cirockets
I'm starting to wonder the same thing. I have never been called by the dealer or Ford about any recall etc.. My Sync is version 1.8 installed from the factory back in Oct 2010, and according to the www.syncmyride.com web site there aren't any upgrades available. I also have the "nightlight" issue however most of the time my system works ok, pulled the fuse once, since the car was built, and had two automatic reboots. I'm also in Canada.. Maybe only U.S. Cars are getting updates? Are there any Canadians out there with a newer than 1.8 Sync System? M. Yes. My version is 2.

revOevoM
I found out Monday that yet another TSB (11-3-15) was issued for MFT updates last Friday, 3/11. While I'm in absolute full favor of code fixes and updates, what I cannot friggin' believe is that this is another one that MUST BE INSTALLED BY THE DEALER!! Why in the world has Ford designed a process for owner's to update software themselves, but yet the majority of code updates to date have required dealer installs? Huh? Why? I was waiting and checking syncmyride to see if this update became available for a self-install. Not yet. (Could be it doesn't or won't apply to my particular vehicle.) Does Ford think all owners have to do is drive back and forth to their dealer to get updates? Absolutely insane. No difference whatsoever than requiring an iPod be taken to an Apple store to get a version update. It's SOFTWARE, not a head gasket. Anyone know if BMW, Audi, Saab, Acura, Infiniti, any other automobile manufacurer requires multiple visits to dealers for software updates? Has this become the norm? Geez, Consumer Reports was right (but maybe not for the correct reason). If it's too complicated, rip the damn crap outa the car and go back to knobs and switches. I'm quickly losing patience and respect for anything MFT. Some 2011 Edge, MKX and Explorer vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch may experience various concerns in the following areas: Clock intermittently displays incorrect time, voice recognition, voice recognition when using SYNC services, phone pairing, USB device detection, Travel Link download time. delldell
There is a new dealer installed update, after 2.4, that is out there that does not appear to be publicized. I reported quite a few problems with my MFT and sync. Dealer said to bring it in, there is a dealer installed update to the update. Nothing shows on syncmyride. Just called my dealer and they told me that I do not want this update! It apparently causes issues that make other features lock up. Said there will be another update next month and supposed to be some customer satisfaction program coming. Not sure what that means.. has anyone heard that? cirockets
I have a new problem, or at least have not seen it on the forum. Traveling on the highway with a Nav Destination turned on, Sirius radio on. Came to a turn-off on the highway, the radio volume went down, was waiting for the turn info to be announced...nothing. The radio volume was still barely audible and was unable to turn the volume up using the steering wheel controls. Stopped the car and re-started and radio volume was back and steering wheel control worked...Same thing happened at every turn off along the route. Anyone else had this problem? revOevoM
... I'm quickly losing patience and respect for anything MFT... ... they told me that I do not want this update! It apparently causes issues that make other features lock up... Nice. Add insult to injury. Now Ford's applying bad updates to bad code? Do they take anything seriously? Seriously. Does anyone there know what they're doing? I have run out of superlatives that even come close to defining what a cluster this has become.
cirockets
Just a quick update on the problem I posted earlier re no audio on Nav. and Radio. Did another 200km trip today and I disconnected the cell phone and re-paired it...guess what? everything worked perfectly.

wilsons66604
I saw this post on the SyncMyRide forum. It was submitted by "SYNC-SOFTWARE" "Watch this site for updates, but make sure you have at least Gen2 - v2.x. If you have v1.x you have to go to the dealer. I can not say exactly when the updates will be released right now."
AXCL
It looks like I'm bleeding edge now I just had service on Thursday and I'm now running MFT 2.7. It is a LOT faster then before, but I'm coming from 1.8. I waited until a standard service and until all of you beta tested :yup: to get everything taken care of. What I've noticed so far: Sync Services are enabled for Canada, I don't think we can do anything with it, but I can connect and listen to their demo. Haven't tested anything as I didn't know how to use it, it said I had to sign up on line, but I've got everything configured that I can do for Canada. Lost phone pairing with my BB 9000 for the first time ever just this morning. It was the first remote start I've done since the update, so this may be related. When using voice commands for NAV, when complete, it then turned my AM radio on. Only happened once/twice that I remember, but haven't really tested further to see if this issue still exists. Voice commands seem to work better. It now accepts "navigation destination POI", before it would only use "...Point of Interest". Fonts for some items are too big i.e. Climate temp gets cut off on passenger side and overlaps heated seat on driver side. Everything seems a bit clearer. Perhaps related to the font change above. NAV doesn't appear to dropout as it did before, where for no reason it would lose its link and have to recalculate where you were...this always seemed to happen just before an important turn. I'm glad to see that on gone. Generally much more responsive. I didn't lose my SAT radio presets, but everything else was cleared. I thought the radio would be the first to go. It makes me wonder if the update was done right. Possibly they are stored int he SAT radio module and not on the MFT. I didn't think to check my AM/FM stations. I think that is it so far, I'll let you guys know if I notice anything else. I haven't spent much time just playing with it, I've only just setup my phone and then normal usage. Cheers! wilsons66604
Just received a letter from Ford. Going in on Friday for a MyTouch update "Customer Satisfaction Program 10B20" Letter says about a half day to service it I got mine as well. It's so nice of them to do it free of charge! I wonder what the update is and why are they sending letters out and calling it "Customer Satisfaction Program" ? Is this common for Ford? I just found this letter but no details on what is fixed Update: this link is the letter sent to dealerships Edited March 22, 2011 by wilsons66604

curlysir
The link to the letter is the letter sent to dealerships. I'm taking mine in Thursday I feel left out No LETTER! Maybe tomorrow. If not, Guess I will have to call my "LOVELY" service rep at the dealer and see if he knows anything and if he will admit to it if he does . I really need a fix for the calendar and clock. My system has a date of November 4, 2030 and therefore the clock is off by an hour.
