I am tired of the few people who are having extremely bad luck ruining it for everyone. I do very much sympathize with you and the issues you are having, but really - it isn't some scam or deceptive marketing out to get us all. I hope your cars get fixed or at this point you are able to just get rid of them as that is what sounds like what you really want. Thanks for the helpful information that I have gotten from some people on here. And I would recommend this car to anyone. I love mine and it works great and has for almost 3 months. I love mine and it works great and has for almost 3 months. +1 It really is ridiculous having a few people with problems take over the forums to the point that all the new posts are about problems. I, like the majority of 2011 Edge owners (yes, I said the majority! The internet blows up and exaggerates everything!) have no problems with MyFord Touch. I love the system and the 2011 Ford Edge. So, having a forum where all I can read about is problems is pointless to me. I haven't been a member long, but even I can remember when this forum was for people to exchange info and advice about the Edge, instead of spam it with their problems and rantings. I do feel sorry for anyone who is having trouble; I also agree that nobody should be having these problems, but I suppose it's the price we pay for being the first adapters of cutting-edge (pun intended) technology. On scale of 1 - 5 our MFT and SYNC problems rate a 2, Annoying, but not enough to post. Ford has come a long way in my opinion. Loved it when I actually drove it, and loved it more when I took it home as my own. I also hated giving it up for a night to sit at the dealer when the Nighlight issue killed the battery. Dont get me wrong, not angry with Ford, sad that I was without my new car that I like so much. I like many here, plan to have many useful discussions on issues other than MFT bugs, so maybe reconsider and stick around.... A lot of us feel the same way about ours, but we just aren't as good at writing about it. There are a few people here with legitimate issues, but I'm also getting tired of them spamming each and every thread with yet another version of thier complaint every time someone leaves a comment. We get it: Your Sync isn't working, or won't stream your crappy music from your new phone. Get over it. Any feelings of empathy from the rest of us was lost after your third post. Aside from all the whiners, I've learned a lot from this forum. Here are some highlights: - I learned how to correctly set the set the seat & steering wheel to match my fob. - I've learned that the cargo cover is junk, so instead of spending $125 on one I bought a black fleece throw blanket from Target for $13. - I've learned all about how a noob can to properly detail a new car (Thanks Canuck!), and now my Tuxedo Black paint looks really awesome. - I've learned where to get a nice trailer hitch cover (eTrailer), and where to get a really good screen protector (NuShield). - I've learned all about Fuse 29, and hope I never have to pull it. There is more, but this is what I remember off the top of my head. So please stay on and please keep posting. We are all looking forward to hearing your experiences with the extreme cold and snow. I believe those here from the beginning of the ordering cycle for the 2011 (the names we recognize) have shared and been very positive. I would like to apologize for any negativity I have posted fueling this mess, and your decision to leave. My vehicle has been out of service for two weeks now, and I've been consumed by the negativity being posted by others, here and other forums. I am done with it. The Edge is a GREAT vehicle, and this issue being experienced by a small number of Edge owners will get resolved. Like my dealer informed me last night, he has sold over 200 2011 Edges and *I* alone am the only one having any kind of trouble.... 1 in 200!! Carrie, I was just about to PM you when I saw your post! I feel exactly the same. I love Evelyn (my Edge) and wouldn't trade her for any other car! I can't get gas prices on my Sirius. I have to make sure the center screen shuts off before I walk away. These are just minor inconviences that will get worked out. But in the meantime I love driving her (no one else has sat in the drivers seat but me, not even my husband!) and everyone that rides with me says the same thing... THIS CAR IS AWESOME! Carrie you can do more good by voicing your opinions on the forum and helping to improve it rather than quitting. I have been on many forums and this one I find is a bit disorganized. Many people start topics on a new thread when their is already a thread on the go with basically the same topics. I have had an Edge on order for 6 weeks and haven't even received the VIN yet but maybe that's all good because by the time I get it some (most) of the problems will have been solved. For now I have a blue 2011 Ford Fusion with the sticker still affixed to the driver side rear door! But when I get my Edge back it's Tricoat White SEL. I will look for you all as I am in the 270 / 40 area, and even Kirkwood sometimes, and A LOT of time at Chesterfield Brick House in the Valley! It is quite easy to get caught up in it. Having gone through the first generation Sync with my 2008 with zero problems, the MFT on the 2011 bit the dust yesterday after just 20 days of ownership. Yes I am unhappy, but I was fully aware of what could happen with this new generation on Sync. The mechanical side of the 2011 is so much better than the earlier year models. It is the best Ford vehicle that I have ever owned. (Plus the money did not go to government moters!!!!!!) This too will pass and in a couple of months, it will be a faded memory. We all have the right to feed the trolls or not. Although I will admit that when a thread is hijacked, we need better moderation to step in and redirect the topic, overall it appears most of the threads that are negative are kept in the negative threads. Those are easily avoided. Your reason for hating this forum is your reason. I personally don't hate it, but to each his own. Really it comes down to this: As a car, the edge is FANTASTIC. No one seems to refute this. myFord Touch, has its problems and they are abnormally high, and pretty bad for some folks. If you love your car so much, I would think you would be more empathetic with those that have them in the shop for upwards of 4 weeks, thats crazy! At the same time, there are a few here who we all know who are over the top... but again... You have the right to come and go, post or not post, read or don't read.
