This evening I was even able to listen to pandora streaming live through bluetooth from my phone. Anybody have any ideas? That seems bizarre. Did any update get done to it? I know my MKX will stream music from my i4 when it is connected via USB cable but not with BT. Not a big deal as it usually needs charging anyway. It alerts me to a text but does not read them. I don't want that distraction on the road. Talking on the phone is one thing, texting quite another.

If that's the case then maybe everyone needs to disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes or so. That will kill everything - more than just pulling fuse 29. Edgieguy
Called the service manager and asked if MFT was updated while my sport stayed overnightat the dealership? He had no idea, askedwhy, I explained stating that now more features are working. His response? Wait for it.... wait for iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. So what's the problem then? Still hasn't returned the call to confirmor deny.
Edgieguy
Checked my SYNC profile and saw that nothing changed so nothing was updated. In the past weeks I have had glitches with the MFT options working then not working so I guess im still waiting for an update. No call from the dealer yet. tarponbeach
I'm happy to report that after a week at the dealership, Version 2 was successfully installed, and is working perfectly, including streaming Bluetooth from my Verizon Incredible. System is faster, and seems much more stable. It appears that the color scheme has been updated as well. The colors are more muted, but better saturated. Very happy so far with the update. The dealer explained that after 20 unsuccessful download attempts, they downloaded all the updates to a USB memory stick, then updated the Edge. WHA? You're telling me that this update is theoretically user-installable?!? After all that's happened?

Thinking the same thing...downloaded to a memory stick...is that what they said?
tarponbeach
Thinking the same thing...downloaded to a memory stick...is that what they said? Yes, that's what they told me. As it was explained to me, there are many different files required, depending upon what optional equipment each vehicle is equipped with (ie: Nav, heated seats, etc. ) This explains why they could not get Nav and remote start to work initially on mine. Once they figured out exactly which files were needed for my specific vehicle, the update took about an hour. I'm lucky that my Ford dealer is also on the product planning committee at Ford, so he has a lot of contacts in Dearborn. He got involved, and got to the right people at Ford, which I believe really helped solve this issue. The MFT system now works perfectly, and is much more responsive and stable than I could have ever expected. It's actually now a pleasure to use, and I am totally happy with it. What you stated is pretty much the way I saw and understood from the tech doing my update. The downloads are determined my the VIN. It took him over 3 hours to get the Nav system and sync info (i) working after the initial download which took less then 2 hours. He had to contact Ford and they led him through the process. It appears to me that Ford is not sending out enough details to the dealers on how to install this latest upgrade. My system now is fully functional and the upgrade does appear to have improved the system. I did have a checklist with me that I complied from reading about the problems with the upgrade. And If I had not checked it out he would have left without the Nav system or the information system working. I caught that, not the tech.
