fathead
A little over a month ago I upgraded my 2010 Limited to 2011 version. After putting on about 2000 miles on the new one I am averaging about 21 MPG doing a 50/50 driving mix. On my 2010, i was lucky to average 19 MPG. I expected a little better gas mileage, but did not think it would be this significant. Is everyone else having similar results?
Edgieguy
My 2008 with 20" wheels, was getting 17.3-17.8 in regular short trips (under 15 miles) with the recommended 10k break in miles . My new 2011 Sport with the 3.7L and 22" wheels is already getting 18.3-18.9 with only 400+ miles on it. Am I happy? Sure am!
radicon
Just traded in my leased 2008 SEL FW for a new 2011 SEL FW on saturday night. Way too early to say what the gas mileage is going to do, but it looks like it will be better than the 2008. Lifetime mpg on the 2008 was 21.5 with trips getting up to 25.2mpg. I will say that the 2011 transmission is much smoother and doesn't seem so clucky with changing gears. There seems to be faster pickup to highway speeds as well. There is a learning curve for the MyFordTouch but that will come pretty easily. Too early yet to see if I will have any glitches with it. Having gone through the first generation of Sync with the 2008, the bugs will be worked out in time as well for this version.

So far I have been killing it - 24.5 average for me so far on almost 2700 miles. Here is a link to a site you can use to track, I would like to seem more people doing this. I am by far the best one out there, but I drive like 80% Highway on a 44 Mile Commute to work. http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/edge I am Kona Blue Edge... So far I'm getting 14.2 MPG... primarily because it's brand new & I've spent waaaaay too much time with the engine idling in the driveway while I play with stuff!! JPSacc
I went from a 2007 SEL with 18.1 mpg combined to my 2011 Limited and after a little over 5000 miles I'm getting 23.5 mpg combined. Granted the 2007 was AWD and the 2011 is FWD, but even taking that into account it's still a pretty significant improvement in my eyes. I envy your 24+ MPG and everytime I see who's new to the 2011 Ford Edge Fuelly and see your mileage I just scratch my head and say WTF? Any way, I only have 1100 mile on mine and drive 15 miles each way, 75% on the thruway with stop and go on the way home. Probably not condusive for good mileage. My wife's 2010 Escape defintely does much better.
