My wife's 2011 Edge SEL is only 2 weeks old now and the SYNC system has rebooted 2 times. Every time it comes back....no problem. Is this one of the problems that people are talking about? I also read somewhere that the was going to be a software update by the end of November 2010.

Thanks

Welcome to the club! Yes, it's one of the MANY problems with the current version of MFT/Sync.

I'll believe a software OS is coming when I see it available from official sources publicly. Until then it's just second hand stories from people who've spoken to tier 1 support folks as far as I can tell.

There must be some sort of memory leak or corruption with the system that builds to the point of total instability as things get used. I wonder what OS kernel Sync uses (some version of Windows?).

I just received this very informative response from Ford, to my complaint that Sync does not perform as advertised:

Thank you for your email in regards to SYNC.

Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. This is a known concern with the My Ford Touch system. Ford is working on this concern. We have no ETA at this time.

Sincerely,
