BonosEdge
I picked up my 2011 Edge Sport about 2 weeks ago and it was a hard sell to the wife but she went along with it. The one thing that is creating a problem for her is that the head rest in the middle rear seat makes it impossible to securely install a baby seat. The head rest is titled so much more forward than the other 2 rear seats which I assume they did so that when you pull it down as an arm rest it provides some support. Is there an easy way just to remove this? Thanks!
Dreamss
OMG!!!! I have been thinking the same exact thing for the same exact reason!! I got my Edge 2 weeks ago and like my previous car, I wanted my child seat in the middle as well. I lindens fact that my wife and I can both see her easily and have access to her should something be wrong. Also my daughter loves to look out the front window and see where we are going when driving and my wife enjoys reading to her while she looks at the pictures. When I swapped out the car seat to the Edge, I went right away to instal in the middle seat and quickly discovered like yourself, it doesn't work!! I also had the problem with the head rest facing forward and pushing the seat out not allowing it to fall flush with the seat back, man I wasn't happy about that when I realized I can't remove the headrest or adjust it. I was then forced to instal the seat behind the passenger seat (my wife's seat) as it wasn't a good fit behind my seat due to how back the seat is placed due to my height. My wife and I don't really like it and my girl doesn't enjoy looking at the back of a headrest and seat as her new "view" even though she now has a seat near a window. I tried to remove the head rest in the middle back seat but it looks fixed but would also like to know what people are doing or if they've found a solution? BonosEdge
Moved the car seat behind the passenger seat as well. It's really crappy. I also noticed that the seat belts when pulled tight lock into place but if we go around a corner slowly and there is no quick 'jerk" on the belt, the seat will move. UGH! I'm looking at finding possibly a shorter seat. We have a Britax which is really tall. My daughter actually likes being closer to the side window now as she can see more stuff out the window. However we liked her in the middle just in case we got t-boned.
