rjmccarty
Just had something happen - getting a navigation system error indicating something is wrong with the SD card. So I tinkered with things a bit and found that my USBs are messed up too. And the system shows that my iPod Touch is connected to the USB. One tiny problem with that - it isn't connected! And my flash drive that is connected to USB is no longer working. Tried master reset with no luck. Turned off car and then restarted with no success. Looks like the system has gone haywire. Will try pulling fuse 29 in the morning to see if that will unjam things... Edited November 14, 2010 by rjmccarty
rjmccarty
I waited overnight and started the car up this morning. It was able to load the Nav system, so the SD slot is working again. The USB connection was cleared so I could reconnect my flash drive. Did not have to pull the fuse - not sure what fixed it other than perhaps something Windows did to clear things... Not planning to reconnect my iPod Touch until I get my hands on the iOS 4.2 update - have been reading posts indicating an unhappy relationship between iOS 4.x and Sync. 4.2 (supposedly) may have fixes which make them play better together. I've found that once the Touch system gets so overwhelmed with errors, it will give up and reboot on it's own. Pulling fuse 29 is handy if you don't want to wait that long. What a cluster that we've resorted to this. Ford need to communicate with the Edge owners soon!
