Edgy Girl
HI... I thought at some point someone here asked how to get rid of the disclaimer screen. Is it possible? I read the NAV book - and it states "comes up every ignition cycle" Did someone manage to figure this one out? Otherwise.. the NAV is sweet system - love the touchscreen stuff... Thanks in advance. rdonchann
I had asked this question before and never got any interest. We must be the only 2 people on here that don't like it.

rdonchann
I am sure Ford probably thinks that saves them from worrying about the sky falling if we all crash. I have never had Ford nav before but my GM ones were a lot nicer deal. The disclaimer would display for about 15 seconds at so many key cycles then would go away without having to acknowledge it. Any software system can be modified. It may take some digging. I'm sure there are maintenance access codes and ways to re-program the Nav box. Just need a tech here with Ford document access to achieve it.

spepper
seems like if there would be a way to create a user profile on it, then it would be possible to create a "disclaimer acknowledgement" log-- any good programmers out there with any ideas? BLUEDART
I offically vote for a modification to rid the disclaimer or have it go away after a few seconds. Kind of an oxymoron: Don't press buttons while driving, but press this one while driving! Also, any reprogramming to make back-up sensor louder? THX! twizard
I have owned a Honda and a Chevy with the factory installed Navi systems. They all have that annoying disclaimer when you start up.
neartheedge
My neighbor's brand-new Toyota Highlander has the same disclaimer, also.
brucesmays
Do a web search. there are companies that make a module you plug into to the NAV unit that does asway with the disclaimer and can unlock other features. I saw one on Spike TV show a few months ago where they were overriding a Toyota NAV unit

I saw one on Spike TV show a few months ago where they were overriding a Toyota NAV unit I did a quick web search, but could not find a module for our Ford Edges (or any Ford, for that matter). There is a company selling modules that interface with Lexus, Toyota, BMW, Cadillac, and Honda.... If you do run across that web page sometime, could you drop a link in here? Thanks!
