richy
Wow, I haven't even received my MKX yet, and ALREADY it's involved in a recall? You GOTTA be kidding!!! Only 71 vehicles involved in the recall, but still, the message it sends is deplorable!! http://www.thecarconnection.com/marty-blog/1050969_2011-lincoln-mkx-ford-edge-in-first-recall
ablb
Why was your MKX recalled? “deplorable” pretty strong word. Toyota seems to have learned a valuable (EXPENSEVE) lesson about NOT recalling for KNOWN safety issues! Our 08 had a TSB, ours was not part of the TSB BUT they did an alignment anyway. Who knows… maybe we would by buying tires at 40+K miles instead of driving another 10K. ab

Starts Nov. 1 and the dealer will have the control modules updated. Update needed...Yes...an inconvenience yes....Deplorable...NO. Every dealer has a service dept for this same reason. curlysir
More details here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5797-2011-ford-edge-tailgate-recall/ Only 71 vehicles involved and the VIN's are listed. Recalls are a way of life these days. Just about every car is going to have a recall for something sooner or later, my 1999 Cadillac, 2004 F-150 and 2005 Excursion all have had recalls. At least they didn't try to cover it up. Appears to be a simple programming fix. Edited October 30, 2010 by curlysir

Interesting in that it shows how far into little details the new myford architecture can be programmed. This is for the lock on the hatch being programmed not to lock. richy
Yes, deplorable was too strong a word. Yes, recalls seem to be a way of life. I just don't like seeing anything go wrong with them.
