msemple
Everyone, We have been noticing a noise when you put into drive from park. It seems to be a plastic cruching noise. Does anyone else seem to be having this issue? Mike
SALEENS7
Everyone,We have been noticing a noise when you put into drive from park. It seems to be a plastic cruching noise. Does anyone else seem to be having this issue? Mike Hey Mike, I have the same noise...but i am sure it is the transmission unlock, if you can call it that. The Edge cannot go into gear with out you pressing on the brake, and i believe inside the shifter there is a lock/unlock feature....i am not an expert at this...but i had this same thing on my mustang.....it sounds like a plastic crunch but is actually the shifter unlocking to go into gear......your dealer will probably soothe your mind better than my explananton just did though. Good luck. Also i have noticed with the transmission on these Edges..when you place it in park, the car will move back about an inch or so..i have noticed that when i park on a slight incline, put it in park, it will jump back ever so slightly...1-2 ". Ksaness07Edge
I haven't noticed a crunch but I did have a squeak so when I brought it in for the first service I mentioned it and haven't noticed anything since

Does anyone else seem to be having this issue? Mike I had the same noise with my shifter. I took it in to the dealer and they said it was not normal. They ordered me a new shifter assembly and they installed with no problem. Noise is gone and the shifter feels more solid now. Go talk to your service dept.
