cdbirch
I have used XM for 8 years and just got a 2010 with Sirius ready. So I canceled my XM and subscribed to Sirius. I can't stand it... is there a way to convert the box in the back to XM? Thanks, Chuck Western Pennsylvania
Theakerr
Will be most interested in the responses (if any) I put up a similar post a while back and got zero response.
cdbirch
Yea, thanks for your reply! I guess everyone is happy with Sirius. I just can't handle the number of liberal talk options. I miss Rick and Bubba, Dr. Edell, Gary Sullivan, Rolleye... Chuck
choff1138
I can't get either - apparently satellites don't fly over Alaska.... and yes - I am being sarcastic - but Alaska gets screwed out of a bunch of things like this.
kosh
XM and Sirius are the same company now?
cdbirch
Same company, but completely different billing and programming is probably only 10% the same. The radios are different, as well. I didn't realize Alaska could not get good coverage, but yet I remember that the satellites are stationed over South America! NO coverage - not just bad coverage. We just have local stations so I listen to my ipod most of the time...
cdbirch
Yep, Theakerr, I guess out of the 99 views no one knows about changing to XM... or no one wants to! I know the dealer insists XM and Sirius are the same! PS They aren't!!
baum
Short answer Not a factory unit. You would have to go with a aftermarket unit. and then you loose the ability to control it through the factory radio.
Theakerr
Hi cdbirch, As you say they are not the same. My son gets xm and he gets a good folk channel and a good blues channel, both of which I cannot get. There is other stuff too. The "rewind" time on Sirius seems to be getting shorter and shorter and I dont know who selects their music, but there is so much good stuff out there that never seems to get a play. i-touch for me and use the money from the subscription to but more music

Thanks, Chuck Western Pennsylvania I had XM for several years and when I learned I was ordering a Edge with Sirius, I called XM and tried to see what options I had. They couldn't even transfer my account. The only option they would offer was a stand-alone player and 1/2 price subscription to stay with XM
