KyEdge
2007 SE AWD with manual cloth seats. The drivers seat is squeaking something terrible. Every time I get in or out, shift position, or stretch my back--Squeak! I love how the Edge drives, but frankly, this is driving me nuts! Passenger seat is totally quiet. Vehicle is out of warranty. I have been to two dealers, and have gotten the same story--all they can do is replace the seat with a new one, which will cost $100s after labor. Anyone have the same problem? Are there parts in the seat that could just be loose and need tightening? How does one remove the seat cover? Thanks.
samskudd
There are hundreds of things that could be squeaking, and the chances are that it is a pretty simple fix. The dealer shouldn't have to replace the whole seat.... I would at least try and pin point what location the squeak is coming from...Is it the cushion or the back? KyEdge
Seat bottom. The more I have looked, I think it is something to do with the rails more than the cusion. I'm just going to live with it for a few more months, and then trade to a 2011. I bought this one used and think it has had some rough treatment. Looking forward to buying NEW and knowing where she's been from day one.

From other threads this sounded like a known problem with a fix - you might want to check with the dealer anyway - till you upgrade.

I believe there is a Ford TSB on this issue.
