2011 Edge, artists/song titles don't display?

Recommended Posts

Both burned cd's and purchased cd's don't display artists and song titles? Is there a setting to fix this? How do you upload pictures to change the wallpaper? I hooked my camera to the USB but it won't upload. Lastly, the system doesn't play dvd movies in park? This is disappointing because all my previous vehicles did.

Same issue with my 2011 Edge, doesn't show artist/title on CD playing. Not sure if this is part of the "Ford Looking for a fix to the sync" issue.

where would you think the image would come from? The image would only be available with properly formatted MP3's that actually include the album art within the .mp3 meta-data.

CD audio do not contain Image information. If you stick a CD into a computer and you see album art that is because you have a internet connection and the album art was successfully downloaded for you. If you were to disconnect your internet connection and stick in that same cd (assume you didn't already download the art) the Image would not show up...sync is a disconnected system.

This is not a sync bug.. sync is not internet connected so it could not possibly show the Image data.

By the way.. with people with Iphones and mp3's downloaded from iTunes chances are you do not have properly formatted mp3's that have the cover art contained. Apple uses a proprietary format for the album art and stores that data that can only be read by iOS/iTunes compatible devices.

I am surprised Steve Jobs lets you apple folk buy vehicles with a Microsoft product inside... I guess it's only a matter of time until we see a iOS Car interface haha.

But I a guess I was wrong about the apple formatted mp3's ... I know it used to be that way though. I stand corrected thanks Wilson6{something}

So let me get this straight, to get the correct album art on my 2011 Ford Edge, I need to use a iTunes formatted MP3 CD, or iTunes formatted MP3s on a USB drive (not exceeding 18K tracks) right?

A zune thing might work too - being microsoft... All the previous post was saying that the itunes format works.

No, you just need MP3s with properly formatted ID3 tags. All my album art comes up fine. Some of the songs skip from a USB drive which is annoying, but visually they are fine.
