Lynric
well......what's the problem? Driver heated seat only stays on for about 10 to 15 minutes, then you can not turn it back on. Passenger seat works fine....Any Thoughts??????
rogersmj
heated seats, troubleshoot. Whoa, whoa, don't go overboard on the details there. Driver heated seat only stays on for about 10 to 15 minutes, then you can not turn it back on. Passenger seat works fine....Any Thoughts?????? You can't turn it back on until when? You restart the car? What year is this Edge? Some cars I've had in the past have had a protection mechanism for the heated seats -- they draw a lot of current compared to any other electrical component, and would be automatically turned off after awhile (I think my BMW did that). Don't know why you wouldn't be able to turn it back on though.
baum
maybe a bad element on the seat is causing it to get too hot and wont start until its back down in temp
MrHappy
Where exactly do you turn them on? I was wondering in one I saw but was in transport mode so I figured it was in the touchscreen somewhere.

Yep - on the touch screen - I haven't explored to much on the small screen to see if you can turn them on there - will look later
Lynric
Thanks guys, But I,m still not clear on the problem.. My Edge is a 2008 Limited, no touch screen. The seat buttons are on the dash. Yes, It seems I can turn off the ignition, and restart the car and the seat goes back on. The seat gets good and warm then suddenly turns off again. How would a ford dealer approach this problem??? Thanks again for all your comments!!!

I think all of us who answered have the new 11's and figured you found another undocumented feature. Sounds like something is wrong with the heating element or the wiring. Either live with it or take it in.

I have an 08. the seats are supposed to stay on until you shut them off or shut off the car. take it to your dealer and let them troubleshoot it. should still be under warranty so take care of that quick. sounds like a bad circut or an overheating element.
