curlysir
Because it isn't just a push - it is a hold down button - I know when I have done it, I am resting my hand doing something on the screen. Mine is more like a touch type switch, not mechanical. Takes a second or so for it to work. I still activate it occasionally.

LetsTryaFord
Maybe some truth in this, pointed out the new Edge to my daughter the other day and yes, its flashers were going as it drove down the road. I'll comment on this again when mine arrives in about two weeks
Burtman
I have had my 2011 Edge Limited for two months and had no problems. I have yet to hit the Emergency flasher button, and I am always using the touch screen, just had the sync updated at the dealer and everything went well. So far I am enjoying my new ride! Tulsa
I think I have activated the flasher on this car more than I have all the cars I've previously owned, combined. When doing something on the screen, my pinky has a habit of landing in just the right spot.
drober30
Test drove a sport and activated the hazards several times while playing with the touch screen. There is no doubt this is a a design flaw! Hopefully Ford can come up with a creative software solution.
lowesdell
I cut a small square of black electrical tape and put it over the switch. It blends in pretty well, although I still accidentally turned it on once even with the tape on.
rwolson
You'll earn over time not to place your hands on the flasher switch. Also, you'll become more adept at using voice commands and rarely touch the screen.
Dumpy
LOL, so you're saying the flasher switch has really been placed there to coherce you into using the voice commands. Better than an electirc shock I guess.
yogregb
I thought about finding a small Ford emblem, you know those raised, embossed stickers kinda things, like on key chains. That would cover it nicely and yet peel off easily and be re- applied. Anyone want to search????
ecb
I accidentally turned on the emergency flasher the first day I owned the car and have not done it since. I have to say that I've never accidentally turned on the emergency flashers in ANY other car that I've owned so I certainly agree that it's not well placed. That being said, I can't say that I find it to be an issue for me. For awhile, I had to be a little more careful/conscious about not hitting it when I used the touch screen, but it soon became second nature to avoid it.
