I got one for my 2007 Edge and it is great - installed myself. In Florida, lovebugs can destroy your paint if left on your car over 48 hours. I had just gotten this used Edge and it had a good scrape on the front and the bra covered that as well

I have had a car mask on a previous car I owned and to be honest it can be a hassle sometimes. If it is not tight it flaps; you do have to remove it to clean the car and I dont' think it complements the car. I have seen advertised a clear sheet material that is cut to fit your particular vehicle and is virtually invisible. When I had my 08 windows tinted, the shop showed me this product. I have to find out the name again. You can have any portion of your car covered with this material and they say it will protect from bugs/chips/ and even slight scuffs. rwolson
Do some searches for car Invisible Bra or Clear Bra. When I picked up my '07 Volvo I paid for the dealer to install one. I've spotted a small bubble in the plastic, but sure protected the car's hood, etc. I recommend you let someone install the product because it's difficult to work with and fit. Also, pricey, but worth it. I'm looking at '11 Edge Limited so I'll probably go with a plastic bug guard.

I bought a covercraft one from autoanything for my 2008 Edge Limited I got this summer. I only want it for when the snow/sand/salt flies here. It does not look bad at all. It is thicker than the LeBra units. It was difficult to get on the first time so be sure you have it warmed up when you work on it. I don't really care if it looks great as it is only on when the weather is awful. I saw an Edge with that stick on clear stuff and I didn't like it up close. The Covercraft will do what it is supposed to do.
JOEHIO
Personally, I would look into the clear film vs a bra. Had one years ago, on my '93 SHO (black), and wind buffeting created marks in the paint, had it on real tight, but they do loosen up. I've seen cars with the film on them, and you can see a slight change where the film ends on the paint, but in my opinion, rather see that then what the bra can do to the paint. The best on your decision. Joe :shades:
dan_man
Another option might be to go to one of the places that do car "wraps" for adding advertising to the exterior. It's a durable material that surely comes in clear, and it peels off when you want to remove it without messing up the paint.

JoeMA
I just bought an '11 Edge and got the Venture Shield lastic guard put on - invisible and covers the whole front of the car- cost $340. but worth it to prevent dings, etc. Check with your local Ford dealer.
