beacoubix
I thought there was a web browser built into the MyFord Touch system? I connected up to my home WiFi but couldn't find a link anywhere on the screen to open a web browser. Has anyone else had better luck? Hey, I'm really happy to see I'm not the only one with that issue.....I passed 1 hour trying to find how to browse on the web. So what do we do now.... ablb
Are people thinking (being told) “WiFi hotspot” will allow browsing the internet from the MyFord Touch screen? ab
wilsons66604
Are people thinking (being told) “WiFi hotspot” will allow browsing the internet from the MyFord Touch screen? ab The initial press releases early this year said a browser would be built into myford sync. Imwas thinking i could pull up to starbucks and connect the Edge to the wifi and then browse on the dash. The latest instructional videos don't show this but they do show a person plugging a phone into the hub to give the edge an Internet connection. Then a guy in the back seat surfs the net on his laptop connected to the Edge's hotspot. Bait & Switch?? Here is an early cars.com article http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2010/01/myford-touch-revolutionizes-incar-displays.html It says (late availability) ---------------->>> Internet Connectivity Full WiFi capability including Internet “hot spot” connectivity and a built-in browser for use while in “Park” (late availability) Integrated browser supports tabbed page navigation, “drag” to pan and scroll and a provides a 3-D carousel for bookmark browsing Support for on-screen and USB-connected keyboards RSS feed aggregator and text-to-voice reader Mobile in-car WiFi “hot spot” capability through USB-installed air card or USB mobile broadband modem Edited September 12, 2010 by wilsons66604
dlmorgan999
According to this article (look towards the very end in the "Upgradeability" section), this will be coming in a future (the next?) Sync upgrade.
beacoubix
I logged into syncmyride and there are already updates posted. I doubt it is the web browser. I will install and report back if I see anything new.
