wilsons66604
Wilson, Yeah i have the CSX railcar number - I was told you have to be "customer of CSX" to track the positon of a railcar however so i have just been tapping my fingers on my desk waiting for the train to pass by my office windows (which it litterally will since one of the main raillines to tampa runs right through town and withing 150yards of my office ) Northrop Southern has a voice response system. No mention of having to be an employee. Your dealership has somebody who can log into the same system that cyberdman uses. I've bugged mine a few times...until I could do it myself. Ā I sent all the info to the dealer yesterday afternoon - of course after all the powers that be had left for the day....They were suppose to check on it for me and update me today - still no word - begining to think the train got stuck in the mud - i have a CSR number for CSX i am probably going to give that a whirl and see if i can leverage some info that way - maybe i will get someone who has a heart and give me some details...lol
luvford
FINALLY............IT HAS ARRIVED!!! Ā My local Ford dealer called me at 9:15am this morning to say that a car hauler with my 2011 Ford Edge Sport in Black had just arrived! :burnout: Ā His timing was perfect and I was there by 9:30am to take photo's, meet the driver of the transport truck, etc........great guy, great stories. Ā I went over it with a fine tooth comb with one of the employees of the dealership and so far I am very impressed as it seems to be perfect. Ā Photo's will follow soon! Ā Livio :speedie: Ā Congratulations! I know you'll love it! :happy feet:
luvford
I have probably two more weeks before mine gets here... so PLEASE keep posting pic's and giving feed back. I will be lost without you all while waiting. And I need at least one YAHOO when mine gets here from someone. Ā I'm still reading the posts so I'll be here to give you a big Yahoo when yours finally arrives in Alaska. :shades:

mleber
Took delivery of my Black Sport this Friday afternoon. Everything was perfect with the vehicle. For those that might care about shipping. The ETA was for next week, the 23rd., so eta was off by nearly 1 week. Delivery location is South Florida. It took the train all the way and then trucked last few miles. The vehicle was built on Aug 30,31. Then got moved to a finisher building (its a sport and has extras needing install off the assembly line). It started its travels somewhere between 9/2 or 9/3 from Canada. So about 2.5 weeks from Canada to South Florida. Ā Will post picks soon. Ā Initial observations Positive - really rides great on 22s, shifting is good and very smooth, Sony radio is nice, screen changes are somewhat slow (but better than I thought it would be), braking doesn't seem to be an issue, suspension is GREAT (surprising with the 22s), Ā Initial Negatives CARGO package is a JOKE - dont buy it. get a cargo liner from internet or just order the bed liner. The cover is the worst thing ever!!! I might mail it back to the design team with a note asking "are you kidding me?" Seriously - bed liner is ok, bumper protection strip is ok, cover is JOKE That is it for negatives - everything else is great. Ā Ford - really? - I am surprised at the changes they have made. I came from a BMW X5. It is a good design, excellent layout inside, decent price. Very good bang for buck.

mleber
Hello everyone. can you give a desription on the rear view camera picture. is it clear or fuzzy? The picture is AWESOME. Even at night. I do not know how they did it, but in complete darkness, the rear view backup lights must be SOOO bright that it almost looks like daytime in the camera view. It is in FULL color even at night. They also have a ZOOM option on the screen (cool). My old ride, BMW X5 backup camera, SUCKED dirt at night. You couldn't see anything if there was no light around. They may have improved it by now, I had a 2007, but I really dont care to find out now. Ā Rear View Camera = Awesome. Great job Ford. Ā It is a MUST and should be standard in my opinion. A great safety tool, one I used ALL the time for parking. Edited September 18, 2010 by mleber

Ā My Edge got to the distribution point on a Tuesday, was released to Allied Systems Ltd on Wednesday and it got to the dealer on Friday. It was only 20 miles from the distribution center to the dealer. From what I was told they wait until the car carrier is full before leaving the distibution center. Ā I hope you get your Edge soon! Still no transport there with my car. (The dealership is only a mile or two from my house) Ā I bet I'm waiting on the trailer to have a full load. Ā (I can't concentrate on anything but this Edge....HURRY UP and get here would ya?!) Ā Update: My salesman confirmed that "it hasn't shipped yet". I'm waiting for a full load Bummer Edited September 20, 2010 by wilsons66604

Grey
Isn't that the truth. We have to buy new to get the latest tech features instead of buying to get new sheetmetal.

Ā Ā Considering my other sheet metal was technically still fine - I was purely upgrading for the technology. So might as well go all the way up. Ā In fact I sold my 99 escort to someone wanting a good mileage commuter car. It will probably get another 100k out of it if treated as nice as I did. I was so excited to get it too and thought it would last at least 150K miles. Ha! Good thing we had an extended warranty. Now at 120K my husband won't even let me take it out of town...he is afraid I'll have road trouble. :stop: Ā I have not bought an American car since my 1976 Ford Mustang was re-called 3 times for engine block replacement. But we liked the fact that Ford did not take any government money AND all the new technology on the Edge. We are ready to give Ford another try. :yup:

The last domestic vehicle I owned was a POS 1986 Mustang. I've been an import guy ever since, but have been very impressed with the new Edge and will also give for another shot.
