DKS
I just bought a 2008 Edge LTD with 25,000 miles on it. Loaded car and I really like it. My first Ford since 1975. No more Government Motors for me. The car is in really good condition and when I get the leftover cigarette smoke out of it I think it will be a terrific vehicle. I noticed the chrome arouind the fog lights seems to be pitting. Is this a common issue? Since the car is under warranty, would Ford cover a replacement. I know nothing about dealing with Ford and warranty work.
Lex Talionis
yep, I say common. I have it as well. that "plastic" chrome is pretty cheap-o and mine look poopie also

claas900
Does anyone have the part number for this chrome piece? And a good place to buy it online. From what I understand its not covered under warranty.

From what I understand its not covered under warranty. Ā from this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2942-list-of-common-modmaintenance-parts-%23s/ Ā Fog lamps bezels LH #7T4Z-17E810B Fog lamps bezels RH #7T4Z-17E811B Ā You may want to call the local Ford dealership though and confirm it before you have them order them. Not sure if that's the chrome surround or not.
claas900
When I looked online on what I thought it was it was $100. When I went to the dealer it was $50. So I knew I had the wrong part, and was sure I could get it cheaper online. I asked if it was covered under warranty, they told me "broken or missing parts aren't covered". Ā It's not broken or missing... It's DEFECTIVE. I would think it should be covered. I had 4 18" chrome clad wheels replaced due to corrosion on the outer edges. I would argue it. Good luck

Ā I would assume same as the wheels (which are quite a bit more expensive) If it is not right then it should be replaced

JOEHIO
:happy feet: Glad to hear the dealer repladed them for you. Heck, it's still a new car, should be covered under the corrosion warranty.
