jpeckinp
Well I replaced the cabin filter on my '10 Edge Limited and I must say it was easier on my '08. I ordered the Fram filter with Arm & Hammer part # CF10547 The filter isn't an exact replacement like I thought. You have to remove the filter from the plastic frame that it is enclosed in, then you have to push the filter in the slot paying close attention to a small plastic tab that sticks down. You have to lightly push past the tab and then the filter will go in the spot perfectly. This is the cheapest I could find it. Depiry
Do the cabin air filters have activated charcoal? thanks Marty
jeff_h
Do the cabin air filters have activated charcoal? thanks Marty No, they are just white plastic frame with white paper-type filter element. Appears to cost about $1 to make but sells for about $10-20 or whatever the OP's Amazon link shows, not much to the filters actually. bigalx58
From what I have seen of the cabin filter, it looks very similar to some cheaper house furnace filters...the ones that have only a thin piece of hard paper as a filter. You could probably cut the furnace filter to fit into the cabin filter slot. Anyone tried this?

bookemdano
Remove your glovebox for easier access. My 2010 has a screen type filter. Took it out and vacuumed it and it cleaned up real well. Probably have to replace it after a couple cleanings because it didn't strike me as real strong. Anyway it should be good for a year or at least a couple oil changes before it needs cleaned again. Thanks, Dano
