Grey
I, like most people have not locked a glove box in decades. Did not know my MKX even had a lock.
Lex Talionis
I purchased the one for an MKX and installed it in our 2008 Edge. purchased one what? a stand alone box or the MKX door that has a lock? please explain. Did the MKX have a locking door and you just retrofitted it? Did you have to get it keyed to your key? anyway.... GunVault makes some nice biometric safes that could be mounted under the rear seats. rwbronco
if someone manages to break into your car, the glovebox will be even easier. go with a company like GunVault. Unless you simply want to keep kids in the car from opening it and being able to play with a handgun or something along those lines - which I can understand edit he either bought a handle or entire glovebox door for an MKX. Here's a picture showing the locking handle: mkx glovebox Edited September 2, 2010 by rwbronco
nextime
I have never ever locked a glovebox. I rather leave it unlocked cause it is one more thing to break when they break in.

LOL my thoughts exactly...the plastic mounts would be the weak link and to have a thief jam a screwdriver/pry bar in between the gbdoor/dash would probably do pretty significant damage

They just pried the UN LOCKED door open with a big screw driver. The only part of the car damaged was the UNLOCKED glove box. ab

Can't believe a thief wouldn't try the latch first....you should register that one in the "Stupid Theives" catagory  I guess you'd have to be lacking sense anyway to risk imprisonment over the contents of a car...or even a car for that matter...sorry to hear about your parents getting ripped off!
