Red Devil
Hello, I bought my 2010 Edge about two months ago and love it as it seems everyone does. I did not have the need for the turn by turn navigation via sync until yesterday. I prepared by logging in and saving the destination on syncmyride.com. It started out fine with the command 'services' then 'directions', I selected my destination, sync replied 'Please wait while I access your location'. I waited 8 minutes and nothing ever happened. 'Services' was frozen on the text screen. I couldn't even shut it off. And this is weird but while trying to find anything that would shut it off I pressed the phone button on the radio, and my hazard lights started flashing! I finally pulled over and turned the engine off to break it out of 'services'. Now I can't even get services to come back up. I say 'services' and it just goes back to my radio. I say 'directions' and it says 'update route status?' No matter what I say to that question, it goes back to the radio. I also tried cancelling route hoping it would clear out anything that might be programmed, but nothing changed. Has anyone else had this problem or do you have any advice? How can I reboot this? Since it became stuck while trying to access my location, would it be the GPS module? But since I can't get it to go to services now by voice command, would it be sync? FYI, I can get to services by pressing 'phone' navigating to services, select 'connect' but it does nothing. Red Devil
While waiting for advice, I decided to reboot BOTH the gps and Sync by pulling fuse #3 and #15. That did it! It works great now! And I didn't even have to do re-pairing with my phone. I had prior experience with a portable gps, and I like Sync much better after expermenting with it locally. And it doesn't scold you like Garin does when you deviate from the planned course.
