Edge12
After searching through about 7 pages or so I decided to just ask this in a thread... Just wanted to know if anyone had any advice or can point me to a thread that does on running Power Wire for an aftermarket amp install.... Im sure it wont be that bad but some advice from guys who have done it will save me some time... so just curious on things like where you went through the firewall at, where you tapped for remote turn on wire, which speaker you tapped for signals, anything to watch out for like breaking clips or trim and anythings like that... Im installing a 4 gauge kit for a JL 12w3 and JL 500/1v2 in an 2010 Edge Limited with sync 6disc no nav. Thanks in advance for the tips or directions... and if I missed a thread somewhere with all this Im sorry.

Edge12
So far Ive ran the power and ground... Next step is which speaker to tap for signal... For Power Wire I went right through a wire harness grommet right behind the Ebrake pedal... so easy... I was done in 20 minutes...

Edge12
Ok ill snap some and post em up... I guess the closest speaker to tap would be the sub but Im still trying to figure out how to remove the molding without breaking anything... just so i can confirm that I can tap the signal from there... I have a cheapo LOC that I will start with but may get the MTX re-Q just to get the most out of the signal without the factory HU taking the bass down as the volume goes up... kinda like a trial and error thing goin with the regular LOC... If anyone has a thread on removing the Sub molding please point me in the right direction... thanks!

Edge12
well I had some trouble with the LOC so I am having it installed by a upper end radio shop on wednesday for 35 bucks... well worth it IMO... Ill post back afterwards.... Thanks
Edge12
Got my LOC installed... The installer pulled the whole factory sub box out and taped the wires after the amp... He said there is a stronger signal after the amp. I have a signal sensing amp for turn on but I do plan on tapping an ignition wire for remote turn on next week... Sub hits nicely but I can tell that the bass is cut back when the volume goes up...which sucks but its still alot better than factory... Install cost me 35 bucks... well worth it for peace of mind on not effin anything up! Hope this thread helps someone in the future... pics will be up soon... thanks
