chainsaw2608
I have a 2008 Limited AWD. The other day it was over 100 and I had two small kids in the car. I needed gas so I filled up without shutting off the engine. According to the owners manual that is a sin . Now my DTE is goofed up and is giving me inaccurate readings. I realize it may not be totally accurate but it was doing a good job before this. The reset button does not work on this reading and the manual gives you no help. Any ideas on how to get it to recalculate. Will disconnecting the battery reset it? Getting ready to take the family on a road trip and would like to have an reasonible estimate of fuel. Disconnecting might reset it. Here's something to do that will fix the problem on your trip: Notice the thing on the dash with an E on the left and F on the right. When the pointer gets close to E stop and fill up. Seriously though - your trip mileage will probably be a lot higher than what you've been getting recently therefore the DTE calculation will be much more pessimistic, at least for the first 500 miles or so. Hi chainsaw. :D The DTE will correct itself if you simply leave it alone for a few start/drive cycles, and maybe a refill. Therefore, the best thing to do is just leave it alone. As akirby mentioned, disconnecting the battery will also reset it. However, it will still take some time to recalculate and you then must also perform the "idle trim" relearn process which is outlined in the Owners Manual. This process must be performed whenever the battery is replaced/disconnected. Otherwise your Edge may not run well for some time. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited June 14, 2010 by bbf2530

After my wife ran out of gas for the second time in her car, I had to reminder her that "E" does not stand for Enough.
