I traded in a 2008 Mazda 3s, which was not very baby-friendly - I have a 15 month old. Anyway, I got the SEL since it was more in my budget, but in my negotiions regarding price, they agreed to install leather Katzkin heated seats and a remote start. I'm also considering one of the wood trim dash kits. Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions as a new Edge owner? I sure can't complain so far =). I find it odd that they offered up Katzin seats and a remote start as you can option out the vehicle with leather already included for less tham what the Katzkin costs. Nothing against Katzkin but I would prefer factory optioned leather over aftermarket anyday. Now if you are going for some totally different look as far as the seats go then Katzkin is definetely the way to go but I don't get the feeling that you are going that route. Just make sure that after they install everything that you look it over as if you were buying a million $$$ car...I have heard plenty of horror stories from other people that have gone this route. I wasn't going to pay them 500 dollars so they could 'promise' me the vehicle i want. Been through that before, wasn't a good experience. I'm enjoying it so far, especially the all weather mats! I had it installed in one of my previous vehicles and its quality is definitely superior to what Ford offers in the Edge. As far as wood grain im going to say SKIP. Some guy posted pics of his and it did nothing but cheapen the look of the Edge. Here it is. In my opinion, that is WAY too much wood. There is a such thing as overdoing it. The kit i ordered is darker wood ( my interior is black), and it's not a lot of pieces... Nothing over the glove box and it doesn't cover the entirety of the arm-rest on the door, mostly just the center console area and all four door lock surrounds. I think it will turn out nice, adding just the right amount of accent, but everyone will have different opinions . I'll post pictures when it's finished! I agree about the Katzkin seats. My Edge is at the dealer getting them installed now. The service guy I talked to said that everyone he has installed them for are very pleased and think they are much nicer than the factory leather installed on the Edge. I can't beleive it's taking so long, the first time they got the wrong seats in. I took it back in on Saturday morning and they said it'd be about 2 days. Well, it's Thursday and I'm sick of driving the Fusion loaner they gave me! I did get the wood grain kit in the mail, so I'll probably install that this weekend (assuming I have it back by then!).
