Tailgate Lift

Recommended Posts

My husband bought me a new Ford Edge SEL. I would like to have an automatic tailgate lift. Can this be added?

Technically, yes. When I bought my Edge it was a $555 option, so chances are, it will be even more expensive to have it added now. However, it really is a nice feature to have...

If anyone has any ideas on where this work can be done, or pictures/ comments on the experience if you have had it done, please post... my wife is starting to have second thoughts on the value of the lift gate...a little late, but should be do-able.

Thanks

more than likely the factory one will be controlled through the SJB (smart junction box). So this will have to be re-programmed. You will need the plastic panel in the rear, the actuator, switch, switch bezel (when no lift its just a flat spot on the dash), wiring, any mounting hardware for the actuator

As for the parts i would look into a totaled vehicle.

The question is how much do you want to spend? anything can happen for a price. I personally dont see it happening for less than 1500-2000.

This is such a great feature.......I laugh when I see others dropping sheet all over the ground trying to open the liftgate manually......If you have the money, anything can be added to your vehicle. I would suggest going to different dealers and getting pricing on having this installed.....you would be surprised at the price differences.
