tmaj
I recently had my 07 Edge with an aftermarket Touchscreen navigation to a detail shop. I believe they put Armour All or some kind of protectant on the touch screen (saw it was very glossy) because it is now unresponsive. The buttons on the unit works. The screen looks as usual. I can listen to the radio and CDs. Any attempt to control anything with the touch screen does nothing. Thanks everyone,
kempie
Um.....Tell us what they say about that tomorrow. Perhaps they have a super cleaner. I'd be pissed as I'm sure you are. Good luck.... Edited June 3, 2010 by kempie
Picturepro
friend had his Lexus detailed, they sprayed cleaner on the NAV it dripped inside and made permanent rings. months later and a couple thousand dollars the shop paid him back. Make sure they do not spray anything directly onto the screen, they F***ed up once they might make it worse you might have to get their insurance info and make a claim against them. You did go to a shop? not neighbor that makes extra cash? Edited June 3, 2010 by Picturepro
tmaj
It was a shop that has been around a long time. I talked to the owner and he is going to find someone to look at it. I guess we will see what happens.
DJ Nap
I've owned a detailing biz for a decade and I've seen some mucked up screens..I use spot-free water and a microfiber cloth to clean NAV screens...and I never put any kind of "protectant" on it. Hope all works out!
