Rugger
I must first say that I still really enjoy this vehicle. By far, one of the best I have ever owned. Had I known it would be this trouble free, I wouldn't have purchased the extended warranty. To the point. I have a humming that has started to drive me batty. Starts at about 45 to 50 and gets louder at 60 to 70. Comes from the passenger side and is a steady tone. Not loud loud, but annoying. Engine speed has no bearing (same sound with car in N with rpms low at speed. Any thoughts?

They just do that sometimes.
feelin edgy
Sounds like maybe a wheel bearing going bad to me.
ThinLine
I second the wheel bearing. Probably passenger rear or possibly both. Take it in and dealer will fix it.
Mike08EDGE
The fuel pump on my old Thunderbird gave off a nice hum...
Phober
Also sounds like a wheel bearing to me - there's a TSB about the rear knuckle's causing the wheel bearings to wear out prematurely - you should contact your dealer and see if yours would be covered under that TSB. With 35K on my '07 MKX, the OEM Continentals are starting to HOWL as a loud background noise at speeds above 40. About 7/32" tread remaining... With slow rim leaks from alloy corrosion requiring weekly air topoffs, it's time for me to look for new skins. Naturally, I just made my 36th & final paymdent. Here's the decision I've got to make: A set of smow tires (now) for the OEM rims and a set (later) of bigger wheels and summer tires, or just get a set of all-seasons and be done with it. fumesy
Just returned from Dealer, my 2010 AWD w/3,000mi developed a rear hum passenger side @ speeds of 40pph & up. Only heard w/radio off. When decelerating u could hear hum subside. Made dealer tech. ride w/me, he heard it. They replaced rt rear bearing after contact w/ Ford mechanic hotline. The ride home, no humming. So far so good, hope left rear is ok.
