Lex Talionis
Hello - just fyi.. if you search here you can pull up several great existing topics - brand names, prices, install details - for after-market DVD headrests. Many people have gone that rote over the dealer version.

How do they match? Do both units work individually or do both seats watch the same program? Overall thoughts?
tpm419419
How do they match? Do both units work individually or do both seats watch the same program? Overall thoughts? As stated n Neweggs's website... both units play the same DVD. They do look good though http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882011006
strokersix
How do they match? Do both units work individually or do both seats watch the same program? Overall thoughts? Both units will display the same show when wired as specified, since of course it's cheaper to just produce one dvd player, which is a side load on the drivers headrest. BUT....... you could unplug the passenger side (slave) one from the drivers side (dvd player) and use an iPod with video if you wanted I believe. the 2 are connected via RCA cables. I do have a set of composite cables for my iPod touch, I need to go down and get the RCA set for it since all the "slave" display needs is a signal input. Our kids watch pretty much the same thing right now, so who know's later. For the price...... The are nice units,..... leather looks good, wider than your stock headrest, pretty strait forward on installations. On the EDGE's with black leather, you have white stitching on the front side from the factory, these come with black stitching, but you get over that real quick, especialy when it's on the backside of your head. There is a nice write up on install I believe in the "mod" or "NAV" section that "TWINS" (used id) did. You can also look on YouTube under "dvd headrest install" (and many others I'm sure) on people and shops installing them
JoeShell1110
I have two kids who are COMPLETELY spoiled and get cranky when in a rental car with no TV. LOL So when I picked up my new 2010 Edge, I knew headrest monitors where a "must have". The problems I faced are: 1. I wanted to avoid cutting into the factory headrests (lease) 2. I had trouble matching the lt. stone leather interior 3. The angle of the headrest meant I would need swivel monitors My solution: I bought two T-View black 7" monitors with the T-View mounting brackets. The mounting brackets securely mount to the headrest poles and allow the monitor to stand alone at the correct viewing angle while front passengers can adjust the headrest any way they like. I have not yet installed them, and am still wondering how I can hide the wire. I will try to post pics after finished. It is a good (inexpensive) alternative if you lease or don't want to permanently modify your edge. Here are the links to the place I got the best price on the monitors which include the brackets: Monitors with headrest mounting kits $83.95 each: http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Headrest-Monitors/NEW-TVIEW-7-HEADREST-CAR-MONITOR-SCREENMOUNTING-KIT/T711HR-IR---T301-HK.aspx I have no affiliation with them, but they seem to have reasonable prices. Keep in mind you still need a DVD PLAYER. These are just monitors. I am installing a Kenwood DNX6960 over the weekend, will let you know how that turns out as well. NOTE: I have T-View monitors in my wife's minivan and they work flawlessly. Very happy with them. Joe
