snoboy
Does the front ( we don't have rear entertainment ) DVD player work while driving? I have not tried. Someone at work said it does not work while driving.
akirby
Does the front ( we don't have rear entertainment ) DVD player work while driving? I have not tried. Someone at work said it does not work while driving. No. It's illegal, not to mention dangerous. Too distracting for the driver.

akirby
But watching a moving map isn't? Glancing at a map for a few seconds? Nope.
Lex Talionis
you can get boxes/devices that will tap into the screen & navi system and allow you to do what you want. search around here as they have been mentioned and I do not have links handy. what year Edge you have may determine which box you can get and what it is capable of. I have one that allows me to have a backup camera and flip a switch to make the DVD front navi turn into a player if I have a DVD hooked up. There are other boxes that allow even more than that. akirby
Thank goodness every forum has it's self proclaimed experts. Lighten up Francis!!! It doesn't take an expert to see the difference between showing a map on the nav screen versus showing a video and there is a reason that showing a video on the nav screen is illegal while the car is moving. I understand that you and a lot of others don't care but that doesn't make it any more appropriate.
snoboy
This looks like a sweet setup, exactly what I'm after for $278. Allows entire system to be used on the fly and provides a decent backup camera. http://www.coastaletech.com/synclockpick.htm Edited March 17, 2010 by snoboy

Does anyone know where I can get one for my 2008?
