dawulf
Was just out in the cold trying to remove the bumper cover. I had to stop because I was concerned about stripping out the heads of the screws along the top edge. Anyone have any suggustions as to how I can get them off without damage. I suppose I could use an extractor and replace them but I'd really rather do it clean.

Hi dawulf. :D Once no one replied, I figured I would give you this advice: If you can, wait until the weather is warmer. You are much more likely to damage something if you try to perform repairs on plastic parts in the cold weather. They become stiffer, more brittle and can become damage prone in the cold. Even metal parts become difficult to work with in the cold (as you are finding out). Good luck. :beerchug:

As too my initial problem, the answer came to me early the next morning when I realized that the 'screws' I was afraid of stripping were actually those funny fake screw/rivet things. They took a bit of damage removing but I can live with it until I get around to replacing them. When they replaced the damaged cover when I bought the truck, they didn't exactly replace them in pristine condition either. But long story short, for $16 I got the trailer wiring harness from my dealer installed and now I just need to pop in the relays and see if it works.
