Definitive rear camera install for 2010 NAV

I've read what I think are all the threads and as of yet have not seen anyone do the 2010. Did the NAV change in 2010 or is it the same as 2009?

Please no guessing!

Second, I read a thread that we have pin inputs for camera that essentially just need a plug adapter to connect to the camera itself. I much prefer this over hacking the screen ribbon cable (frankly while creative, that's butchery). So does the 2010 allow this unused cable block to be used for cameras?

Lastly, how does one program the NAV to recognize that a camera is attached when it finally is?

Thanks everyone, I look forward to tinkering with this very soon!

Peet - you read my mind. Ofcourse I'd like to do more than that.

I haven't taken delivery of my Edge but I'm doing research on things I'd like to change about it.

I came across this unit on ebay - has anyone used it or heard of it yet?? Reading the description it seems you could add a backup camera without butchering the ribbon - good call - I wouldn't want to try that either!

I'd love to enable the screen to watch DVD's while in motion and before I get slammed - I mean for my passengers - I don't mean for the driver as this would obviously pose a great theat.

Let me know - Here's video I found,...

Looks pretty awesome! And no cut wires is a plus!

WOW, a rip off in play! $255 on ebay or $239 directly from Coastal.

So here's my take. If I dont care about all the additional features, how can I attach just the camera?

Also - anyone have a PDF of the installation manual? Issue I have with these "hack" solutions is that they usually go inline in the flat ribbon cable from screen to core processor/dvd/nav unit. I really think that's sloppy especially if the 2009-2010 units should take a camera input without fuss or hacking.

Anyone?
