k_m
We are trying to allow more than one number to have access to sync services. Both our numbers are entered but we can only have one active line at a time. According to syncmyride.com, I can purchase additional services, yet I do not see where I can do this. I would really hate to have to pay additional fees to have more than one line active. I bought the Edge for my wife, so she will be the primary driver, yet, if I need it I would like to have access to sync services with out having to go online and changing the active number from hers to mine. Any Insight????

Any Insight???? Yeah, buy a subscription for each phone just like it says on syncmyride.com. The subscription is for the phone, so if you want both to have access at any time you have to buy 2 subscriptions. It says that clearly in the FAQs. k_m
Actually we would need to only buy one subscription since we already have one free fro 36months. I just do not see where I can purchase the extra subscription. Actually now I am considering wether I should buy and install Ford's in-dash Navi system. igcitng
So Sync is not free forever, just for a certain amount of time? Or free forever for one phone?
k_m
To my understanding Sync in itself is free. Sync Services [weather, traffic, directions, sports, news, & business search] is free for 36 months. After that its a fee & I do not know how much the fee will be. So for the Edge's with the navigation etc, got it. So in an Edge with just the basic Sync, no navigation, it only supports one phone? Would explain why I had to delete my old phone to install the new one.

You might need to register with a separate account for each subscription. FAQs aren't clear.

I do not have the touch screen navigation, just the regular 6 disc/mp3 stereo. However, with Sync ver. 3.1 [our car came with 3.01 installed] there are more features to sync. Its called Sync Services. Basically you press the sync button and say services. It will dial into sync services and then you can say something like directions, traffic, etc.. and it will download the info the the car and then hag up so that you can use you phone if needed to make calls etc... If I find out how to get access to more account I will let you all know. :stats:

I went to syncmyride to see what I have installed and it is 2.1 which is all I can get because my Edge is a 2008 and these features in this thread are only supported in vehicles made after 2009. So basically mine can make calls play music and dial 911 because I bought the upgrade. Sounds like Sync is going the way of Onstar. k_m
Ok figured out how to access to additional accounts. Akirby suggestion was correct and help me find more answers. Basically we would need to register the VIN number with a different email/password and then when you finish the registration process it will give you the fees for Sync Services [Traffic, Navigation, Information, etc...] Its $60 for 12 months. So, yes it sound like Ford is going to OnStar route. Thank Akirby for your suggestion.
