GA_RR
I know this must be posted on here somewhere but I've spent the better part of an hour now searching this forum and online and can't find what I'm looking for. Can anyone identify the wire colors for the speakers coming out of an '08 Ford Edge SEL regular head unit? I'm trying to get a line out converter installed right now for a subwoofer I'm adding to my wife's Edge. TIA
Lex Talionis
I can't "identify" them, but if you look in my gallery, you might be able to see the colors as I have some speaker install photos there
GA_RR
Just in case other were searching, I thought I'd share the answer to my own question. Here are the speaker wire colors on the back of an '08 with the standard radio. Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: White/Red #02 Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Blue (remote-out) Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/Blue Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Yellow/Green Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Purple/Red --- #08 Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White #21 Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White/Brown --- #11 Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Purple #12 Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White/Orange --- #09 Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Green #22 Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Yellow --- #10 Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown/White #23 Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Blue Here's a picture of the finished product as well. It's a Kenwood 10" model KFC-W2512 powered by an Alpine MRP-M500. I definitely didn't get the amount of airspace the sub is supposed to have in my enclosure (it has approx .5cu ft) but I'm more than happy with the sound so far and the wife's happy I didn't take up any of the stroller/baby stuff space

swroll
I'm adding a powered sub and component speakers (front) to my wife's 2010 SEL. Any ideas or thoughts on install? Also, I found the factory premium sub harness but was wondering if anyone has used it for aftermarket subs. Any luck with LOC's?

Is that an aftermarket enclosure like a Qform or did you build that yourself?
GA_RR
Thats very nice and exactly what Im after. Is that an aftermarket enclosure like a Qform or did you build that yourself? Thanks. It's a custom build I did myself. Wish I had taken some pictures before the installation . The shape of the box is basically what you see except that the bezel on the outside is larger than the box itself so that it would lap over the plastic. Nexus
does anyone know what the colors are like for the 2013 models? I would assume white is positive and black/white(stripe) is negative? (LF speakers)
Philip White
I'm adding a powered sub and component speakers (front) to my wife's 2010 SEL. Any ideas or thoughts on install? Also, I found the factory premium sub harness but was wondering if anyone has used it for aftermarket subs. Any luck with LOC's? I see this question was never answered in 2010 and I am wondering the same thing in 2015 as I try to wire my Edge with aftermarket Sub. Any answer would be appreciated. Thank you. I was able to wire it all direct and everything in my vehicle works great I'm even using factory Sync with it... It took me a minute to figure it all out but now it's not easy to do on a Chevy Ford or whatever you might be driving except foreign I can answer any questions you might have email me @ edwardwolfgang56@gmail.com
