MOFSTEEL
Has anyone installed a larger rear sway bar on their AWD Edge? ...if so what are your impressions? Steeda lists one ONLY for FWD models and it looks like H&R sells a 25mm rear sway for both AWD and FWD models. I added a larger rear sway bar on my last car and it made a pretty significant difference in handling and was hoping to eliminate some of the Edge's body roll in the corners. Also does anyone know the diameter of the stock rear sway bar? TIA
MOFSTEEL
I'll just go ahead and answer me own question since no one wants to contribute. I just received an email from H&R and it seems as though they do not sell sway bar for the Edge. Odd since a google search shows retailers selling them. Anyone know if the sway bars on the Edge Sport are the same as the SEL & Limited?
dwtc
i have tried to find the specs on the sport rear sway bar but haven't come up with any info. I did some checking of part numbers and all the info I come up with list the AWD rear stabilizer appears to have the same part number for all models but no listing for the Sport here are the part numbers that I found AWD 7T4Z 5A772 BA (this is the same part numbers for 07-09 Edge and MKX AWD) There are several part numbers for the FWD models depending on wheel size 08, 09 FWD with 17", 18" wheels 7T4Z 5A772 A 08, 09 FWD with 20" wheels 7A1Z 5A772 AA 09 FWD 22" wheels, N.A. MKX FWD 7A1Z 5A772 AA The AWD appear to have the same part number EDGE & MKX AWD 7T4Z 5A772 BA I just checked the part number on my Sport and the number on the tag is 7A13-5A772 AA. I think you need to see if someone can get the part number off of there AWD sport to see if it may have a different bar. I am not much help since mine is FWD.

Feirstein
Ford increased the size of the front and rear sway bars for 2011. Best to order both but be sure to match front wheel drive v all wheel drive and also match the wheel size. They also increased the stiffness of the springs and the dampning of the shocks. A revised steering box is also part of the 2011 improvements. Changing that out will really cost you. We really need someone to confirm these statements from the Ford PR people. Since few performance parts seem to be offered from outside sources this is the best bet for improved handling, but doing everything will be costly. If you just stiffen the rear sway bar you may wind up with more oversteer, this may be taken care of by the stability control system, but on older cars I have experienced a 180 in the rain with just a rear sway bar upgrade.
