Edge Guide
2011 Lincoln MKX spied without disguise FORD EDGE FORUM - For most of 2009, we’ve seen heavily camouflaged prototypes of an updated Lincoln MKX testing across the nation. Just today, we’ve snagged a 2011 MKX with most of the camouflage removed. The most obvious change to the MKX is the switch to Lincoln’s signature, double-wing grill. Past that we can see a restyled hood and fenders along with much sleeker headlights. The lower fascia has also been moderately redesigned. S281ETT
Don't like the front very much, but will wait to see the final car before passing judgement.
Grey
The grill looks fine to me - it's the tail lights that I would miss from my 2007. The older ones are distinctive and this is bland. I'll start looking seriously at a 2010 MKX now that I see this.
Lex Talionis
is the paint job suppose to make it cammo so you do not pay attention or is it to say LOOK AT ME, I AM A PROTOTYPE BUT YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO NOTICE not diggin that grill 1 bit and the wrap around turn signal - not into those at all, looks incomplete
igcitng
The front reminds me of a Pontiac.

But I agree with you for once - I think it just screams "Look at me - I'm a pre-production prototype!!!!". Probably a little of both. end
thanks for the post! I really don't like that new grill. It's great not to have the urge to upgrade my 07...

ThinLine
The camo is supposed to "hide" the body lines and design of the headlights/tails. I think the new style is sweet. I do miss the bad ass full length tailight on the older model.
akirby
actually, I think we have agreed 3 times now I won't tell anybody if you don't.....

MKX2007
Hopefully, the end result won't be as bland in the back as it appears to be. The full width tail light is one of the most distinctive aspects of the car. The front looks OK. I hope the big news will be under the hood, 345 HP EcoBoost. S281ETT
How much more is the ecoboost motor going to be....its not a cheap option on the MKS.
akirby
It should also come with the 300+ hp 3.7L just announced for the mustang. That is supposed to be the standard Lincoln V6 going forward and should replace the current 3.5L and 3.7L engines.
rboe
I think it looks pretty good; but I'd have to see it with the full colour of a new car. I bet it will look pretty darn good in some colours, less in others.
mark abby
aren't those that magnetic material covering the body and not paint? seems they wanted to hide certain details around the head lights and a few other places.

plumber1
The back end is good, but from the windscreen foward is a mess. curves and angles all over the place, Have ford never heard of "if it aint broke, dont fix it".
MinnDuc
I like the looks of the restyle, however not as much as mine. Edited May 13, 2010 by MinnDuc
