2009 Nav unit in 2007

Hello,

 

I wanted to know if the 2009 Edge Ford Part # 9L8T-18K931-AG Nav unit will work in a 2007 Edge? The 2007 unit is the pain 6 cd player! So i would like to know if i could just remove the 2007 unit and install the 2009 nav unit and get the atenna.

I was also looking to retrofit my 6cd radio with a Nav unit in my 2008 Edge. I want to know if it's possible, DIY, expensive to install and do you have to match car/Nav unit by model year.

I want to get a unit from a scrap yard if possible.

 

Am I correct in saying that no one has replied to you yet?

The 2009 system works on the CAN message network system. Unless you know how to reprogram modules, you're going to have a hard time getting it to work.

The 2007 and 2008 systems are interchange able. The 2009 and 2010 are interchangeable, however you cannot go from a 2007 unit to a 2009 unit. The newer units have a hard drive in the unit itself.
