Bubbling paint on 2007 Edge AWD SEL

I was stunned to find that the paint on leading edges of both rear wheel arches on my '07 Edge is bubbling. The local dealer was quick to point out that at 110,000 Km, I can participate in Ford's cost share program --for a minimum ante of $250, or... hope that the panels perforate before 5-years... because that's the only way Ford will do anything. Memories of rusty fords all over again!

I'll decide what to do in my case, meanwhile... I encourage all Edge owners to regularly inspect their wheel arches for similar problems.

I dropped by the local Ford dealer today to have two of the wheel's on my 08 Edge inspected for some paint "bubbling" on the outer lip. It was so subtle that you could feel it more than see it but the car is still under warranty so they ordered 4 new wheels for replacement. Run your finger around the rim edge and if it's not smooth as glass chances are this same thing might start happening to yours. Just thought I would mention it.
