eng6ine
Ok i'm new to the forum and there is probably another post somewhere that addresses this but I couldn't find it. I just purchased an 08 limited with sync. I am wanting to put the oem ford nav into it. I have been told by multiple dealers that if I do this I will loose the sync. Is this true and is there anyone out there that has gotten around it? Thanks

blockisle9
It can be done - the dealers are not correct. They did it in mine, 08 limited with sync. It had the standard radio. The dealer installed the Nav unit and every thing including sync works perfectly! Lenny

I bought a used Ford Edge Limited 08 with Sync, Navigation, and DVD head units. The dealer at the time told me the DVD was aftermarket and that the sync worked. He was wrong. Unfortunatley I bought the vehicle out of town and when I contacted them about the Sync not working they sent me to my local Ford dealership who can not seem to figure how to connect the sync again. Apparently the DVD wasn't the only aftermarket piece but the navigation is as well even though it is a genuine Ford unit. I didn't pay for a car with one option or the other, I bought both. They have agreed to pay to fix it but they can't figure out how.
