The only way to tell would be to actively check your vehicle to see if it has any 2010 feature that was not included on the earlier 2009's. But again, highly unlikely. Good luck. :beerchug:

ebaker21
All, Thanks for the replies. Would anyone happen to know what the 2009 vs. 2010 changes are? I found a little information on Ford-Media.com which reported that gas mileage was up by 1 MPG and that the interior had been upgraded. It was actually this information that lead to my posting this inquiry since my Edge has gotten anywhere from 19.5 to 20.7 MPG with an average speed of 35 MPH (heavy / light mixed traffic / 64 miles round trip daily work commute). Thanks, ebaker21
Waldo
Since the EPA bases all the CAFE calculations and emissions certifications on what the designated model year of a vehicle is, not when it was manufactured, you can bet that your 09 is just like every other 09. professorfingers
Hi, According to my local Ford Sales Manager there is no difference between an 09 and 10. Some my argue that the 10 model has a Synch upgrade (and that’s true) but the dealer can provide this upgrade for around $50-if not for free. The package selection is different between the two models years but the individual equipment is the same. So, if like me you are looking at price, incentives and new features-I would go for the 09. It’s the same vehicle, a little cheaper (around $ 1,500 depending on options) and has better incentives. JMHO, TW

The engine and transmission are the same. Does Ford compute these mileage numbers or the EPA?

There are color and packaging changes. My GUESS to the differences in the gas milieage is in information on mileage turned in from the 09 model year. I know looking through the sales catalogue for the 10's different EPA estimates are used throughout. Some pages list 17, some 18. Maybe Ford "fudged" a little for the 10's. Grey
I heard the Feds slightly changed the mileage testing criteria - some vehicles benefited and some lost. YMMV.
