Lex Talionis
I cannot answer for 2009 exact, but I sold one just like that here, I was going to use on my 2008 camera install but went with a different style. RCA jacks, should work universal. also, a CCD camera is the way to go, research will show a CCD camera - all in all - are better quality choice than CMOS and I have seen these plates come in both styles. on the 2007-2008 you had to get a special switch box to hook to the nav system and then hook the camera to that. I did a full install write up here. but RCA hook is standard.

I read your article and have not been able to confirm if following your installation procedure would be applicable to the 2009 Edge. Fry's said they would install the camera for $80 to $100 and, if they give me a "no work, no pay" offer, I'll let them try (maybe?)

ebaker21
Wow thats great of you , do work for free ??? do you work for free???? Work? I am retired and the sales person suggested that if they installed the unit and it didn't work they would not charge me. However, before he went through the trouble of getting the OK from his boss, he wanted me to commit to the purchase (thus my comment "no work, no pay"). My main concern of not having Fry's do the work is the potential for damage, loose panel faseners and other which might happen during installation or (if not working) after installation removal (why I said "maybe?"). Questions: 1. Do you look for something negative in a posting in order to make such (unkind) replies? and, 2. Are you interested a backup camera? securinu
No i install them all the time since i own a shop. And daily get people who shop fry's and ebay who want the cheapest part installed then cant figure out why it looks and works like crap. Go to a shop that knows what they are doing and you wont have to worry about it working or not. Them not knowing should be a clue for everyone not to let them work on your vehicle.
