secord1
I have a black 2009 MKX. The dash is covered in this rubbery/leathery material, and I don't know with what to clean it! When I had it washed at a local place, the armor-all dried leaving a dried, soapy appearance. Any suggestions? Otherwise, I love my MKX!! igcitng
Armor All will break down the plastic, don't use it. Aren't shiny dashes kinda uncool nowadays? I use a swiffer and a damp cloth if there is anything to clean. Amor all is very oily, so if you want to get it off I would use some diluted dish soap, it will cut the grease and wipe it down and then wipe with a wet towel to get all of the soap off. Tell the carwash guys to save the armor all for the tires.
secord1
Didn't really want shiny - just clean. The "rubbery-ness" of the dash makes everything stick to it. It's very odd.
Lex Talionis
I use Armor All wipes that come in the container round dispenser.. makes it fast and easy on me
igcitng
Armor all might make it worse, dust really sticks to that stuff. Didn't really want shiny - just clean. The "rubbery-ness" of the dash makes everything stick to it. It's very odd.
secord1
Everything seems to stick to it! I just wiped it down with water and that seems to have gotten rid of the residue. The material is so different from a normal dash-even my old Edge.
computerguy
ICE Total Interior Spray Available just about anywhere. I was worried about cleaning the black interior of my Edge, especially not wanting any shine to the dash area. I really like this product - leaves a nice clean fresh smell also. I use in on everything interior. Edited June 3, 2009 by computerguy

PSUFetch
I use an interior detail spray from Meguires. It does' tleave a shiny or slippery residue and it does a nice job of removing light dirt and dust. It can be used on the dash and also on painted interior surfaces. Lex Talionis
I use ICE on the outside... I have no issues with the Armor All, works great for me.
igcitng
How about a sticky lint roller to get it off? Then if you wipe it down you are not wiping the big stuff around.
litew8t
I use a product called Mother. Its in a red spray bottle called " Mothers Preserve". We have the black dash also. This product is great you can use it on the outside moldings, interior. Also have a 66 mustang and I use it on the hoses on the engine too. I have used Armor All but find it collects dust and it really is no good for your dash. Other guys in our car club also use lemon pledge on the dash. hydro
I wipe it down with a damp towell. Make sure you do it in the morning when the dash is cold, when it gets hot everything will stick to it.
Jaak in TO
A small cap full of woolite/zero in warm water works great. Wipe dry with a clean towel.
professorfingers
I like PLedge-but the extra moisturizing formula. I have used Pledge for the past couiple of decades on the interior of my cars. It smells kind of nice too. TW
screenplay
armor all should be banned I dont know why anyone would let that garbage near their vehicle
BlazedUp
Diluted simple green and a washcloth. Armor All cleaning wipes work really good too. I have used armorall on all my cars since I was 15 and never had any issues. The low sheen formula is great for the dash.

It protects without being sticky & shiny. Armour All is one of the worst products you can use. It contains silicone & seals the pores in the vinyl. This will eventually destroy it. BlazedUp
The dash is plastic, not vinyl. I use leather conditioning wipes on the seats.
Shackelford
I used "Goo-gone" or D-Solv-it" (same stuff) to remove that sticky crap from my 2005 Escapte and my new Edge
