tnugs
Hey all. I have a question for those of you who added an aftermarket subwoofer... I have the audiophile system with stock subwoofer, I wanted to use the wires from the sub/amp clip but don't get any output unless the stock amp is hooked up... Are these wires low or high output? does the head unit not send power/sounds to these unless the amp is hooked up or on? It seems silly to have an amp hooked up with a RCA converter in front of another amp. Thanks for any help! -T Edited April 12, 2009 by tnugs
1nutsvt
My two cents worth... I had a SVT focus and it too had the audiophile system. I kinda wanted to put a larger amp & woofer. Ford has a f-up way of hooking it up and i believe you will have to re run all new wiring. I just left it alone is still sounded great. I could be wrong though. I want to hook up a sub to my Edge did not come with audiophile option. I did find a company that make s box/woofer but its more money that i want to spend on that mod. Maybe ill look into putting one under the passenger seat like my Subaru WRX had. Like Emeril says "Kick it up a notch" I'm not looking to be hear from three blocks away. I'm done with that phase a long time ago. Good Luck.

tnugs
where's the pics? i'm interested in swapping all my stock speakers out. i would like to keep the H/U though. I wanted to keep the stock head unit also... I started by upgrading all the door speakers with the infinity 682.9cf they sounded better than the stock speakers but not much better... I sold my stock navigation system and speakers on ebay for $1250.00 you can get an F900BT for about $700.00, 2.0 update fixed all issues add four infinity 682.9cf's for $300 and you will have a system that blows the audiophile system out of the water. with a few buck left over for a sub and amp. Check out this post http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3451 let me know if you have any questions.
