turn signal lights flashing on instrument cluster out of sync with bulbs

Recommended Posts

Hello! I have a problem with the turn signals. They flash like crazy. Sometimes they stay on, sometimes they stay off, sometimes they are lagging, both sides. But the lights on the outside of the car continue to flash at a normal rate, without any errors.

All the bulbs are ok.

Sync2 reset ok.
No codes on ForScan.

In the video you can see the lights flashing normally on the outside, and in the cluster the turn signal gets stuck sometimes. This happens on either side. And if I use the alert , when the lag happens, it happens on both sides simultaneously. If one stuck on, the other too.

The “turn sound” (that “clicks”) follows the cluster, when the green arrow lag, the sound lags too.

Any idea what this could be?

My 2019 did that when I put in some very cheap straight from China LED turn signal bulbs in the front. They supposedly were "canbus ready" but at $3 for the pair too good to be true. I couldn't stand the out of sequence fast blink inside. On my 2019 those are basically the only incandescent bulb besides the license plate light, but your 2014 mostly has incandescent bulbs. Are any of them replaced with LEDs?

Hello! The bulbs are of the normal model, the common type. None of the turn signal bulbs are LED. But I can try to exchange them for new ones of the same model to eliminate the doubt, however they are in good condition and blinking normally. in the front, rear and in the rearview mirrors they are ok.

I believe that this circuit is controlled through the smart junction box. I'd try resetting all the modules in the car by disconnecting the battery for several minutes (allows the internal capacitors to bleed down.)

BTW, did you do any lighting   modifications to your car?

No changes to the lights. Only the low beams were changed, but for original models, not LED, and a long time ago. The rest of the bulbs are all common.
