enigma-2
We were out visiting another city today, returning I decided to stop and get gas. While filling up, I remembered that when I was a kid, we used to pull into a has station, a clerk would run out and ask regular or Ethel. We'd choose regular and while THEY were fuling the car, they'd grab an air hose and check the pressure in each tire, then pop the cap off the radiator and add water, then check the windshield washer bag for water, and finally clean the windshield. So I got curious as I haven't checked the pressure in my tires, checked the oil level or washer fluid. Surprise, surprise. Quart low (due for an oil change) tires about 5 psi low and washer fluid near empty (snowing here today, been using the washer.) Slapped in a quart of Shells best synthetic ($11) and the washer bottle took a half gallon. Guess it doesn't hurt to check these things every once in a while when getting gas. Was at a Loves Truck Stop (love these places), where they have two pumps in a lane. Guess no one ever checks their air pressure any more. Car behind me got disgusted that I was checking my oil and putting air in my tires. So he started blowing his horn. This of course forced me to slowwwwwww way down, and be extra diligent. (It wasn't that he couldn't go around, he was just too lazy to go around. It required he back up and then pull over into the other lane, or continue backing up about 10 ft more and drive off.) After seeing that I wasn't going to get out of his way, he went around. Varoom, varoom and he drove off around 40 mph through the gas station. Anyway, I then pulled the MKX up to the building in front of Hardies and put the oil and washer fluid in. Lesson, don't pass off an old man working on his car. We don't give a shit if you're in a hurry. <snort> Edited March 7 by enigma-2
