edgingguy
Hi. First time poster. I have a 2014 Ford edge limited with 3.5L engine. I noticed very recently that I am getting some kind of whistle or squealing on hard acceleration. It was first noticed when making a pass at highway speeds. I went out lastnight testing when I hear the sound, if I am going 50km/hr and floor it I hear the squeal/whistle. I am not a mechanic and it is really hard for me to tell. But I am guessing it's either a belt, a pulley or perhaps some kind of gasket passing air or exhaust. No engine lights, no loss of performance or changes in fuel economy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1004ron
Welcome. From your description I don't believe its the belt. More likely an exhaust gasket leaking. Possible the CAT's getting fouled causing higher pressure upstream.
edgingguy
What should I do I wonder? Perhaps a check for codes? The Ford dealership is so expensive I hate going there for diagnostics but I'm starting to feel my options are low.
enigma-2
$25. Cheaper than dealer. https://a.co/d/4Bv1QxN
