lasseventies
Hi folks! I have a 2024 Edge with shy of 6k miles on it and I have being dealing with a rattling noise coming from the rear right cargo side panel. It starts at any highway after 50MPH. I tried (while some else driving) to press firmly and find something loose on the panel but no luck. Anyone with a similar rattle issue? Here is a link of the noise: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HaITQXoBgTHu7FPjOpRTE688jWJ7naMY/view?usp=drivesdk Thank you very much in advance! Tim W. AZ
Not sure how to solve your particular issue, but one time I had a squeak in a door panel and I sprayed silicon in the area and it took care of it. I've only done it once and it worked once, so worth a thought. Good luck.

Good luck. i guess I can spray some WD40 inside the air vent towards the seatbelt screws and see what happens
Haz
Welcome to the Forum @lasseventies! As your highlighted illustration and your comment indicates, the rear seatbelt retractor lies beneath the trim panel, and it contains a pyrotechnic (mildly explosive) device to pretension the belt in event of a crash. Because your Edge is under warranty and within its Low Time In Service (LTIS) period, during which repairs are extensively documented and reported back to Ford, you really should contact your dealer to have a professional technician diagnose and correct the noise's root cause, which may be directly related to the seatbelt retractor assembly. Good luck!
STBEAST
Wow! I listened to your recording and I too have the same thing happening. VERY similar sound! Interesting! I have a 2024 Edge ST with 6400 miles. At speeds above 60 MPH I hear a rattle/squeaking sound coming from the vent area highlighted. I sat back there while my girlfriend drove and it is behind that vent. WOW, same exact area. It seems to be speed related, not bumps in the road. Below 60 it seems to go away no matter how rough the road is. Almost like it is wind related. I was going to pop the vent out and see what I could find. Unless there is a TST or Service Bulletin, the dealers are pretty much worthless with this kind of thing. I also have a rattle in the right rear corner of the hatch back trim panel (right where the handle is that you would grab to close the rear door). It is present when you hit the slightest bump and is more noticeable once the car and interior are warm. I tried pushing on the panel while driving but it is inside the rear hatch door????? Good luck! Yeah… you are right. I did make an appointment to take it to the dealership, but I am not quite sure if they’re gonna be helpful at all. Well.. I am glad that I’m not the only one here with the same noise. You’re right, below 50 or 60 mph It does go away… I do have an appointment in a couple weeks at the dealership to see what they have to say. Before reading your post my guess was that maybe one of the screws of the seatbelt assembly is making the rattle but it does make more sense to believe is air related
STBEAST
I seem to think the noise could be coming from anywhere in that area, we are just hearing it through the vent. I also seem to remember that noise wasn't there a couple thousand miles ago. When I first noticed it, I would be above 70-75 mph, but over time it seems to have gotten noticeable at lower speeds. I can almost say without a doubt that you and I are having the same issue. I will keep you posted if I get any information as well. Please keep me posted, I am going try and tackle the rattle in my cargo door panel. It has become constant and very irritating, Jim

johnmarkp
There is a slight chance that the rear license plate is loose. I had a rattler that only happened at higher speeds. I did not figure it out until the plate almost fell off. The Ford capture nuts are not very good. It is easy to over tighten and break them. omar302
On earlier Gen 2 models there was a TSB for a rattling sound coming from underneath the vehicle. Maybe worth checking out. Edited 9 hours ago by omar302
