Power source for trailer light converter

First time posting here. User name due to having a 2012 and 2020 Miss my 6 banger.😟 Putting a trailer light converter in. Got the wiring from the taillights down to below. Trick: After taking out the one screw, pull the taillight assy. off by a piece of duct tape placed horizontally on the lens with a piece hanging out the back to grip. Simple! Looking to power it from the rear lighter instead of running a line all the way to the engine. Only LED lights so no big draw. I assume I won't have power there if the car starts shutting down non-essential loads due to failing battery. That's OK. Easy to get the rubber hatch seal off. How to get the rear inside panel off is the question.
Thanx in advance.
