mitchjs Posted Sunday at 08:30 PM Report Share Posted Sunday at 08:30 PM in my 2011 Edge (built 11/10) when sitting in the seat and you slowly(SLOWLY) lean forward, extending the belt out of the retractor, it locks then you have to unbuckle let it go all the way back in to the retractor to use again anyone else have this issue? any solution? replace retractor assembly? is this: Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) Mode? how to disable?!? omar302 Posted Monday at 12:07 PM Report Share Posted Monday at 12:07 PM When you lean out, does the belt extends all the way out? If yes, then it is by design and there is no solution for it. This is for locking the belt when installing a child car seat. Also, when the seatbelt is retractable you would hear a clicking sound. Otherwise it would probably be a failure in the retractor. I don't know why, or what she does, but it happens in this car, it happens in my F-250, and it has happened in other cars also. It is something about the way she grabs the strap and pulls it, or something. I really don't know, but for other people, it rarely happens, even in the same seat.
