Touchscreen & Heated seats

Recommended Posts

Just bought a 2017 Edge; was too good of a deal to pass up... That being said it is missing some options that I would liked to have and I am considering buying salvage parts to make those Wishlist items a reality.

I would love to put in a Sync Touch screen w/ climate control. Then add a pair of seats with the heater.

My question is will all this be able to plug & play? or am i just SOL on this pipe dream. TIA!

It can be completely DIY, you can gather up the APIM and screen, the face plate (with the heated seats buttons), install them yourself, program them yourself (using Forscan). As far as the heated seats, not sure what all would be required besides the seats.

Ford cannot do any programming. You must program it yourself using FORScan. The face plate with the heated seats buttons may not even be required if you only want to control the heated seats through the touchscreen. The heated seats are controlled over the network, through the seat modules.

It can absolutely be done, adding those features, however, it likely won't be "easy". I am not intimately familiar with how the edge is wired up, but you'll need the seats, probably some sort of driver seat module, the 8" screen and APIM, as well as all of the trim pieces required to house the 8" screen. I'm sure there's a some wire harness building involved too.
